Life is a test. We are not present on earth to just exist; we are here to learn. Life is a lesson. Love one another unconditionally. Love thyself unconditionally. We spend our whole lives learning to do this. Some succeed and some never have a clue. I'm trying. Love my fellow man. Don't react and don't always have to be right. This is one I'll have to work on for the rest of my life. Appreciate each day and recognize positive and negative as a part of life's experiences. Look around me and see life at it's best. The joys of living come as you strive to achieve your dreams. Its the quality of each day that is important, not the distant dream once achieved. Teach and nurture my children. You can never give them too much love. -Randa Jex 1/1/94

The new dog on the block.
Sydney loves running around outside in this gorgeous weather! This is Sydney and Brulee in the courtyard hanging out. Brulee's yard overlooks ours and it just drives our girls crazy!

Product Plug!
I have to plug the newest addition to the Jex family...our Hoover Cordless Vac. It was a house- warming/new carpet present from Steve (Zach's dad). It is AWESOME. Not only does it suck up the 45 lbs of blond hair that Sydney sheds daily but it is so light and maneuverable. I think it weighs like 5 lbs and I can walk all over the down stairs, vacuum the stairs, and then head upstairs....without being plugged in. The lower part pivots so you can get in all those little dirt collecting areas and it runs on a rechargeable lithium ion battery... like a digital camera. Great on wood floors and carpet!
So there is my plug! I love it...it makes me WANT to vacuum. Whoa.

Easter weekend
The weekend concluded with an awesome Easter. Mom, Dad, and I made Polish Borscht and enjoyed a nice breakfast in honor of Papa and our polish heritage! Then we headed off to church and enjoyed an awesome Easter sermon by the really good new minister, Jim Welch. It was a great day….then I had to battle the raining roadways back to Mississippi. Side note….Louisianans cannot drive. I lost all of my Easter joy as I entered Louisiana and battled for my life. I was so happy to get home and see Zach and the girls!

My very own Perry Mason (que the theme song!)
Things are going great and Zach and I are staying busy at work. As you can tell from the title of this blog, Zach has entered into the law world with a BANG. In fact, as of April 6, the Jex law office on Market street is officially open for business. (really, send everyone you know to see him!) We were so excited to have this opportunity open up and I know that this is the beginning of something great. Zach has a special talent that I only wish I had! He can walk into any situation (known or unknown) with all the confidence in the world, head held high, ready for anything! He has successfully completed some cases, is currently taking defense appointments through the court, and is building his name around town! I am so excited and proud of him for all of his hard work, it is paying off daily and I know he is really enjoying what he does. He told me the other day he really likes being an attorney in Natchez because he feels like he is getting an opportunity to really help people with his legal aid and council opposed to working for a big firm in a big city where there is little, if any, client interaction! We worked on Zach's office last night and I will post some pics soon!
I am a busy bee over at Cellular South as we are working hard on some upcoming events. One of which Zach and I are very excited about, the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life. We are partnering with Zach's firm to host FREEDOM FRIDAYS at the store. Our theme is "Freedom from Cancer" and I have the store decked out in Red, White, and Blue. Each Friday we host a BBQ with tents, music, prizes, raffles for phones, and great food! On May 1st our team will participate in the all night walk! I am walking in memory of Papa Stan Ross and Randa Jex! If you would like to get involved or make a donation please email me (sjex@cellularsouth.com).
We are enjoying the weather as it is finally starting to feel like spring. I just joined the gym here and the classes are awesome...still sore from Monday! I do weights and classes there but I always do my cardio outside in this amazingly beautiful town. I can't resist it...I start at the gym...then a breezy run along the Mississippi and then I loop back to the house on the streets of beautiful 100+ year old homes. It is the highlight of my day (and I don't usually love running so that is a huge thing for me to say!) I was asked to join the Garden Club and I am excited to start that! The women in the Garden Club do amazing things for Natchez and are also in charge of receiving tourists at the historic homes as well as hosting the Pilgrimage (right now I am trying convince Zach to MC the 2010 pageant....maybe he will if I commit to wearing a hoop skirt and doing the Polka). I started painting again!!! It took a while to get settled into the new house and organize my studio...but I am back in business. I have 3 pieces in the works. (yes Cory, yours is one of them!)
This Easter weekend Zach is staying in Natchez to see a lot of old friends coming back for the holiday as well as eat crawfish with Holly and Parker at their pre-wedding party! I am headed home to Houston to see my parents and to meet Elle Lupher! Keep praying hard for the sweet baby girl, she is in the hospital but making awesome progress as we await next weeks heart surgery. Can't wait for the traditional Polish Easter morning borscht....yummmmmm!!!!
GET OFF YOUR KEESTER & HAVE A HOPPY EASTER!!!!
