Each day we continue to unpack boxes, move furniture, hang artwork, paint walls, and making the house a home! We have made a lot of progress so far but geezzzz...it is hard work. My mom came up from Houston to help us paint and then Zach's dad came with the carpets were installed to help us move furniture. It seems like as soon as one project wraps up, another one is in the works. But what a blessing we have in this home....a home that Randa loved and took wonderful care of. We are eager to pour hours of labor into the home because we know she would be proud to see our progress!
Yesterday we got some additions for the home. 2 new appliances...stainless dishwasher and refrigerator. I thought I was going to die if I had to wash another dish...i know, I know...our generation is completely spoiled! We worked hard in order to earn the money for these additions. We hosted a 2 day garage/estate sale last weekend and although it was totally exhausting, it was very successful. Don't worry we kept all of the antiques and family pieces, we just used the sale as an opportunity to get rid of some of the clutter. We also spent a day in the yard and the courtyard sprucing it up and turning it into our New Orleans inspired courtyard. We have enjoyed this beautiful weather and have been eating dinner out there every chance we get. Zach as become quite the grilling master and if you come visit you are likely to find a pork tenderloin, steak, spicy chicken, or our famous grilled Parmesan basil corn on the grill!!! Sydney and Emma are enjoying the outdoor living area too as they keep watch over the neighborhood with Brulee (Dianne's dog) and the new puppy next door.
